“To Know Thyself is the Beginning of Wisdom”-Socrates. It may be strange to think that I may not know myself. Most people think they know themselves until you ask – what is your favourite food? What is your favourite book? What is your favourite colour? What time of the day do you prefer – morning, noon or night? Do you prefer having a bath of shower? Hot or cold? Tea or coffee? How many sugars? Favourite aunt or uncle? How many glasses of water do you drink per day? The list of questions is endless. Like jumping on a trampoline- some of the answers may appear as if it takes you up, and some of it may appear as if it takes you down. The key Socrates was referring to was that if you know thyself, you can believe in yourself. Better decisions are made if you know yourself. Better choices are made and possibilities become endless.
The following learning material explores the concept of “Believing in Myself”. The elements of Self-Concept, Self-Esteem, Self-Confidence and how to cultivate it is shared.
