Lego Based Therapy (LBT) is a skill-building approach. The assumption is that if children approve their social and adaptive functioning, self-regulation, and problem-solving, social deficits are replaced by more adaptive communication gestures/self-regulatory gestures in all relevant settings. The core of the therapeutic intervention is a collaborative process, with inherent interdependence, creating a necessity for joint attention, shared goals, joint accomplishment, social communication, and mutual respect and valuation. During this workshop, delegates will learn how to set up, manage and facilitate their own groups. They will also be able to successfully use LBT with children that have language- and communication challenges.
NB: The attainment of CEUs or CPD points does not license any professional to practise outside of their scope or competency. CPD training is intended to broaden the knowledge of professionals and does not constitute professional training. The responsibility to practise within their relevant scope remains with the professional, regardless of what CPD training they attend.
