I am a “retired” social worker and now actively involved in the administration of Vista Clinic. I previously worked as the clinical coordinator and later the registrar of the CPD programme.
There are a few mottoes that I have implemented as part of my life directors, and recently this one became a valuable one for me: “Sometimes we just have to stop being scared and go for it. Either it will work or it won’t. That’s life” (DestinyAchievement)
I enjoy nature, and as life in the city does not often provide much of that: I appreciate nature photography: colour combinations, play of shadows, clouds, sunrises and sunsets…. We can still find beauty if we look for it!
If I was an animal, I would be a kiewiet (crowned lapwing).
I am a linguistics and psychology graduate, currently managing the activities of Vista Academy. This role brings with it tasks such as selecting the training topics on offer and applying for accreditation at the various councils, in addition to overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the academy. I have been with Vista for 5 awesome years.
A quote that really resonates with me is this one, by Viktor E. Frankl: “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
I am a complete bookworm! A few of my other favourite pastimes include travelling to unique places where I can learn from other cultures, hiking in nature, and sampling flavoursome foods.
The animal I most identify with is an owl.
I am a drama graduate, currently working towards completing a National Diploma in PR. I am tasked with carrying out the various administrative and day-to-day duties at Vista Academy, including tending to queries received from delegates and service providers, and carrying out coordination duties. My role will soon be expanding to include marketing.
A quote that has continuously spoken to me during the various seasons of my life is this one, by C.S. Lewis: “It is never too late to be what you might have been.”
I am a complete lover of the entertainment industry – my colleagues refer to me as the “pop culture expert” of the team! Some of my hobbies include exercising and learning about the USA and their politics.
The animal I most identify with is a dolphin.
My dream job would be to travel the world, however my current job is that of clinical coordinator at Vista Clinic. This role requires me to be a bit of a “Jack of all trades” to be able to effectively marry the clinical world with its administrative tasks. I hold a master’s degree in social work healthcare and have a passion for creating structures and content in the mental health industry. Other responsibilities include assisting Vista Academy with the running of their CPD seminars, and presenting psycho-educational groups and community groups.
My favourite quote is by Albert Einstein: “Do not judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, or it will spend its entire life believing that it is stupid.”
I am an avid animal lover, so I find it hard to identify with just one animal, but if I have to choose it will be a dog.
I present psycho-educational groups at Vista Clinic, provide employee wellness support, and form part of the Vista Academy team, in which I assist with community groups and CPD seminars. I hold a BSc Traumatology and Adv Dip Traum. I have 15 years emotional trauma intervention experience, 4 years lecturing experience and 5 years psycho-educational experience.
I love everything about motorcycles, Harley in particular. My favourite quote would thus have to be: “If they stand behind you protect them, if they stand beside you, respect them, if they stand against you, defeat them.”
My hobbies include riding bike and “club stuff”.
If I was an animal, I would definitely be a wolf.
I am a psychology honours graduate from the University of the Free State. I present psycho-educational groups at Vista Clinic and am also responsible for the therapeutic programme. In addition to this, I form part of the Vista Academy team, in which I assist with community groups and CPD seminars.
I have a great appreciation for arts and music, so one would often find me at some type of arts, music or crafts market. As I am from the Free State, nature has always been a big part of my life. A sunset is the event in the day that creates a feeling of peace within me. That is also why one of the mottoes that I live by is; “Keep your face always towards the sun and the shadows will fall behind you.” – Walt Whitman.
The animal I most identify with is an elephant.
I am a psychology graduate, member of the Council for Councillors of South Africa, experienced educator in the fields of pedagogy and andragogy, and a total criminology aficionado! At Vista Clinic, I present psycho-educational groups and form part of the Vista Academy team, in which I assist with community groups and CPD seminars. I am passionate about human behavioural sciences and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds.
My favourite quote is by Albus Dumbledore from the Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling; “It is our choices that show us what we truly are far more than our abilities.”
I am a cat enthusiast who fosters and rescues cats, therefore the animal that I identify with most would be a cat.
